Grant: staying or going?
Avram Grant has been dubbed a dead man walking, but not anymore according to Oliver Holt.
The Daily Mirror writer told the Sunday Supplement that Chelsea's recent form has meant the Israeli might just keep his job.
But, fellow panelists Martin Samuel and Joe Lovejoy are adamant that Grant is a goner, even if the Blues become European champions by beating Manchester United in Moscow on Wednesday.
What do YOU think?
Is Grant going whatever happens on Wednesday?
Has he done enough to earn a full season at the Stamford Bridge helm?
Does he need to beat United to convince Roman Abramovich he is the right man?

Here is what this week's panel had to say about the future of the Chelsea boss...
OLIVER HOLT: "The fact that Chelsea pushed Manchester United all the way for the Premier League title and are also in the final of the Champions League, which is something Jose Mourinho just couldn't do, has boosted his standing. The picture is a lot muddier than it might have been - or probably many of us were expecting - to the point where it seems crazy to be talking about getting rid of him."
JOE LOVEJOY: "Do I expect him to be in charge? No. Do I think he should be? Yes. I did an interview with Petr Cech last week and what he said is the guy has done a good job this season. His results have been actually been better than Mourinho's were last season, so why on earth would be thinking of sacking him? It just doesn't make sense at all."
MARTIN SAMUEL: "I don't think he will be in charge, but I think he should be. If he isn't the man for the job now, he wasn't the right man for the job in the first place. There was nothing to suggest he could do it, but having given him the job - and it could partly be because if you've got a squad worth £300million, you've got half a chance - he has done well."

Being a Man U fan I know the secret to our success over the years has been our stability. No other team has had the stability we've had and it shows when you look at who has dominated English football the last 15 years. I believe Avram Grant is a very very good manager. He might not be pleasing on the eye or exciting to listen to but I think he could be the man to give Chelsea stability and I could see a lot of trophys going Chelseas way if Grant was to be there for the next ten years. Look at Man U. Sir Alex knows the club inside out, from the tea ladies to every youth player and their families. No other club has brought through players such as Giggs, Beckham, Scholes, Neville, etc etc. I believe any club could bring players like these through if they just had a bit of stability and the manger was there long enough to understand the clubs youth system. Every time a new manager is brought to a club they just spend every penney they are given and they dont waste time looking at the youths. I believe this is the real problem for the future of English football and its the youths who are suffering from this instability due to them having to impress a new manager every year. How many other leagues around the world sack half their managers before the season is even half way through? Compare their youth players to England's. The evidence is there to see.

Avram Grant arrived when Chelsea were not performing well, now they are, so credit should be given to him just like he is blamed when Chelsea loses. He has shown us that he can win big games and make good substitutions, his choice of buying players seems to be better than Mourinho's, the only thing he lacks is pumping up players in which Jose was the best. Although this inability of Avram Grant caused Chelsea to lose the Carling Cup, yet he can win and he has to prove it once and for all in Moscow. If he wins the Champions league for Chelsea then he certainly will stay and should stay.

How can people take credit away from Avram Grant saying that he inherited the team from Mourinho. If thats the case, Mourinho should be giving credit to Ranieri for bringing in Lampard, Cech, Makelele, J Cole and bringing through Terry. Judge Grant on the results, not on the players he took on. If he got the sack after winning the Champs League and bettering Mourinho's record in the league, it would be a joke!

Yes, Avram Grant has done a good job, but let's wait and see if he win's the champions League first. If he fails to win in Moscow come Wednesday night, then I think he will be gone. Abramovich will not be happy and nither will the fans. Avram Grant needs to win something and that is the champions League. It will save he's job and give him the respect.

Its absolutely absurd to even suggest that Avram should be sacked he came to a team which was teetering on the brink of collapse wen the so-called ''Special One'' left he steadied the ship brought Chelsea to almost winning the league and he will most probably deliever the CL i think he has done more than enough to stay at The Bridge for next season i know many people are pointing to the fact that the players stood up an all that yeah the players deserve 50% of the credit and the rest goes to Avram since he motivated the team in the 1st place and everyone keeps talking about his inability to make decisions in key matches in the match wid Arsenal his changes brought the two goals so all in all i think he deserves a 2nd season in charge he has done enough to suggest that he can handle the players contrary to what the media keeps suggesting also many of our top players have also come to his support i hope he stays in charge next season!
