Ibrahim Afellay has been forced to pull out of Holland's squad for the upcoming friendly with Austria.
The PSV Eindhoven midfielder picked up an ankle injury during the Eredivise leaders comfortable 3-0 win against Groningen on Saturday.
The versatile star would have been in line to earn his third cap for the national side, but is now facing a frustrating spell on the sidelines.
Afellay has been a virtual ever present for PSV this season, but has struggled with niggling injures throughout his short professional career.
With the fixture against the Euro 2008 co-hosts in Vienna fast approaching, Holland coach Marco van Basten has decided against calling up a replacement for Afellay and will instead stick with those players who have already begun preparations for the game.
