Terry and Lampard celebrate

John Terry is confident Wigan can do Chelsea a favour on the final day of the season, following Monday's win at Newcastle that keeps his side firmly in the title race.

A 2-0 success at St James' Park means Chelsea are now level pegging with Manchester United at the Premier League summit heading into Sunday's final day fixtures.

Chelsea play Bolton at Stamford Bridge, while Manchester United - who have a far superior goal difference - travel to The JJB to take on North West neighbours Wigan.

And Terry believes Wigan boss Steve Bruce will ensure Chelsea have a fighting chance of reclaiming the title they lost to United last season.

Justice done

"I think they will do the Premier League justice," Terry told Sky Sports.

"Wigan are safe now but with a great manager like Steve Bruce they are going to go for it.

"If we pick up three points at home to Bolton, we have a very good chance."

On the win at Newcastle, which kept the title race alive, Terry admitted they were poor in a goalless first half.

"It was a bit slow at times and we got a bit of a rollicking at half-time.

"All we can do is our job and I thought we did a professional job."
