Kitson: Stoke's record signing
On July 18th, Dave Kitson became Stoke City's most expensive player ever when The Potters decided to pay Reading £5.5m for his services.
Kitson will probably face yet another relegation fight this season after the one he has just lost with his previous club Reading, but his experience will likely to be as priceless as his goals.
The ex-Cambridge United forward reached the double figure for goals mark last campaign, despite his sides' struggle.
Not many English players were able to better the redhead, and at one point some people even suggested his name could have been included in the national team squad.
Only the four English strikers in the above table, as well as Steven Gerrard, managed to net more league goals last term, plus Steven Gerrard, but Kitson's accuracy and conversion rate were second only to Michael Owen, whilst only Wayne Rooney has attempted more passes.
However, Kitson's imposing game which mostly revolves around his strength on the ball, can result in a more physical approach - and this saw him give away 61 fouls as well as receiving 3 yellow cards and one red last term in the Premier League.
