DeMerit: Eye infection
Watford will take at least 10 days before deciding whether captain Jay DeMerit will have an operation on his eye problem.
The defender is set to see a specialist after suffering an infection in a cut to his right eye, which was sustained while removing a contact lens.
DeMerit is being monitored by the Hornets and manager Malky Mackay says the club will take time over the American.
"We will not make the decision on what is going to happen to him at least for the next 10 days or so," said Mackay.
"He has specialists to see over the next 10 days and no decision will be made yet."
Meanwhile, Mackay insists he is happy with his squad, despite increasing injury problems.
"It is an ongoing process at the moment but I will keep my ear to the ground and keep chipping away to get the right people into the club and that will never stop as far as I am concerned," he said.
"The knee-jerk transfers I think always end up in tears and I think it has to be calculated and for the good of the football club and the good of the team.
"If somebody is coming in, they have to add to the group and until that situation we have a good group here."
