Swindon Robins have confirmed the capture of Croatian starlet Jurica Pavlic.

The 19-year-old is one of the most highly-rated young prospects in world speedway and The Robins have beaten almost every top-flight club in England to his signature.

The Robins have brought in Pavlic to replace the injured Seb Alden and will come in on just a four-point average and will be a huge boost to Swindon in the latter part of the season.

Swindon manager Alun Rossiter was delighted to capture Pavlic's signature.

"It's superb news for Swindon Speedway that Jurica has decided to join the club," he said.

"Plenty of British teams have been chasing his services so the fact that we've managed to secure his signature once again demonstrates we are an attractive club for riders to join.

"Jurica is clearly a very special talent and his performances in the Polish league with Leszno demonstrate that he is more than capable of mixing it with some of the most successful riders in the World.

"Leigh Adams is full of praise for Jurica and they already share a productive working relationship through their time at Leszno. We are all very excited about welcoming Jurica to Blunsdon and are hopeful he will perform well."

At the weekend Pavlic booked his place in the World-Under 21 final and he is one of the favourites to win the crown later this year.
