Leeds Met Carnegie is delighted to participate in the Netball Superleague for the third year running.
The Superleague provides the University with an opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to excellence in the world of sport. Leeds Met Carnegie netball players Lianne Badmin, Sarah Beattie and Jo Davies are past and present students.
The commitment of Leeds Met Carnegie to netball goes beyond the new national Superleague. The university runs Sunday morning 'drop-in' clubs for children at Carnegie providing netball opportunities for 40 players each week. In partnership with Leeds City Council, the University has also employed a netball coach to work in schools and clubs to develop the game.
The University enters teams in the West Yorkshire super league as well as the national university competition. From children to adults, beginners to international players, Leeds Metropolitan University is committed to developing the game. As such we are able to offer scholarships to suitable talented athletes from both home and abroad.
