Rafael Nadal winning was terrific. But the best ever final had to be the Sampras vs Rafter final of 2000 the level of tennis was extremely high. Both guys were fantastic tennis players and it was so tight that you could not predict the outcome. With the night falling and the eventual winner being crowned it was very nostalgic just like this years it was just fantastic.

My favorite match was Agassi/Sampras Australian Open Semi-final. Went to five sets with Agassi winning 6-1 in the fifth. Both players played out of their skin.

As good a match as it was the highest quality match I've ever seen was Sampras and Agassi in the 1/4 final of US Open 2001. There were no breaks of serve in the entire match. Agassi took the first set on a breaker and Sampras took the next three likewise. The quality of play never dropped and the shot-making was unbelievable.

Tennis craft RIP No serve vollys, craft and gile it seems the slower balls and courts have given way to the next generation of one-dimentional power play...interesting... not really! Not many drop shots slices or lobs either, only big forehands and serves to opponants backhands required.Yes this years final was thrilling due to a great opponant but up to the level of strategy of Borg Mcenroe... NO WAY!!!

Last years final was good. This years was exceptional. Never been so engrossed in a tennis match as i was on sunday. Don't think we'll ever see a better example of top class competition like that across any sport.
